"I really want to believe that our participation and in general this whole experiment will move the situation from a dead point. And that our country will be able to return to normal life",– said volunteer Anna Kutkina.
All volunteers developed immunity to the coronavirus. The proof is antibodies in the blood. During the experiment, scientists were convinced that the vaccine is safe, the components are easily transferred by the body. It was created on the same basis as the Ebola vaccine.
"The very platform for creating this vaccine has been developed for 20 years. A platform that allowed the design of new drugs. And a number of vaccines have been created, in particular, three vaccines for the treatment of Ebola, which have already passed large clinical trials on more than five thousand people – patients, volunteers,– said the director of the Institute of Translational Medicine and Biotechnology of Sechenov University. –
That is, this vaccine was designed on an already developed technological platform. It's not absolutely from scratch."
Another group of volunteers remains here, in one of the buildings of Sechenov University – the experiment continues. Those who went home stay in touch with their doctors so that their condition can be monitored remotely.
